Our standard Martingale collars do not have a closure - simply adjust the collar to it’s largest size and slip over your pup’s head, then adjust it down for the proper fit. You should be able to fit 2-3 fingers between your dog’s collar and neck. It should feel snug, but not too tight.

Martingale collars are commonly recommended by trainers, rescues, and shelters because they provide added security without harsh corrections. When fitted properly, the collar tightens only enough to help prevent slipping, then immediately relaxes when pressure is released.

Martingale collars are especially well-suited for:

• Dogs who can slip out of traditional flat collars
• Dogs with narrower heads or thicker necks
• Training and everyday walking where added security is helpful

Our collars and leashes made from flat webbing can be washed either by hand or machine. We recommend hand washing in the sink with any type of soap (dish soap, shampoo, etc) and laying flat to dry. Please do not machine dry, as this may cause shrinkage.
